Wells King is research director of American Compass, whose mission is to restore an economic consensus that emphasizes the importance of family, community, and industry to the nation’s liberty and prosperity.
Previously, he worked as a policy advisor to Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) on the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. His writing has appeared in National Review, USA Today, First Things, The American Conservative, and The Daily Caller.
Wells is a 2018-20 Public Interest Fellow, a 2018 Claremont Institute Publius Fellow, and 2016 Hertog Foundation Political Studies Fellow. He holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Davidson College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. A native North Carolinian, Wells lives in Washington, D.C.
