Philip Jeffery is a deputy opinion editor at Newsweek. He was previously an associate editor at the Washington Free Beacon, an editorial assistant at The Weekly Standard and National Review, and a program assistant at the Hudson Institute. His writing has appeared in The American Conservative, First Things, National Affairs, Public Discourse, The Lamp, and elsewhere.

He was a 2017-19 Public Interest Fellow. He graduated from Columbia College in 2017 with a B.A. in History. Originally from Portland, Oregon, he now lives in Arlington, Virginia.
