Cherise Trump is the Executive Director of Speech First, an organization that files litigation on behalf of its student members against universities that violate their free speech rights. Cherise is also the host of Speech First’s podcast, Well Said, where she interviews guests on free speech, higher education, and American culture.
Before joining Speech First Cherise worked at The Heritage Foundation as the Associate Director of Coalition Relations focusing on defense and foreign policy, and immigration reform. Previously, Cherise worked at The Alexander Hamilton Society as the Program Manager.
While completing her MA at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Services she was a 2019 Rumsfeld Graduate Fellow. She is a 2018 George C. Marshall Fellow of The Heritage Foundation, a 2017 Claremont Institute Publius Fellow, and an alumna of the Hertog Foundation’s War Studies program. Her articles have appeared in the Washington Examiner, Newsweek, and Townhall and she’s has appeared on numerous radio, podcast, and TV shows to discuss the state of free speech on college campuses.
