Bart Connolly

Bart Connolly is an active-duty Navy Foreign Area Officer focused on Africa and the Middle East. He has served in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, U.S. Africa Command, and at three U.S. embassies. Before becoming a Foreign Area Officer, Bart was a Naval Aviator. He also has private-sector experience, having worked in finance at Goldman Sachs & Co.

He holds a doctorate in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Bart’s first position after graduating from The Ohio State University was serving as the personal aide to the governor of Ohio.

Bart attended the fellowship in his capacity as a private citizen.
