Arta Moeini

Arta Moeini is an international political theorist and a revisionist scholar of Nietzsche and Modernity whose research spans questions of civilizational decline and cultural renewal (particularly in the West), the role of ideology in statecraft, and realist approaches to foreign policy. 

Dr. Moeini has previously served as a senior advisor for policy at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). He is the Director of Research at the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy (IPD) – an international affairs think tank committed to advancing realism and restraint in U.S. foreign policy. 

His writings have appeared in Compact, UnHerd, The American Conservative, The National Interest, and elsewhere. Dr. Moeini was a 2021 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute and is an elected member of the Academy of Philosophy and Letters. 

He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies from the University of California Berkeley, a Masters in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and a Ph.D. (with distinction) and M.A. in Government from Georgetown University.
