Hillsdale in D.C. Attends 5th Annual National Conservatism Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C.—On September 2nd-4th, Hillsdale in D.C. staff, faculty, and students attended the 5th Annual National Conservativism Conference. Hillsdale College president, Dr. Larry Arnn, delivered remarks at a plenary session about what a nation is and whether or not America is a Christian nation. He called for a revival of the “old-time religion.”

“[Today] is as bad as the Revolutionary War and the Civil War,” Dr. Arnn posited. “If we’re going to save our country...we can only save it by going back to the old-time religion. And that means in Christianity, and that means in politics, the Founding of the United States of America.”

He concluded his 15-minute address, “If we die doing that, we will have died in a good cause. And if we prevail in some other cause, that would be shameful.”

Many conferences attendees visited Hillsdale in D.C.’s booth to learn more about the mission, the Van Andel Graduate School of Government, the James Madison Fellowship, and our regular programming and events.
