Hillsdale College Earns NCAA DII Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence

Hillsdale had the highest academic success rate in Division II

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College received the NCAA DII Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence with the highest academic success rate for student athletes in Division II.

“We celebrate this recognition of our student athletes’ achievements,” said Hillsdale College Athletic Director John Tharp. “Our students’ ability to excel in both rigorous academics and athletics is a testament to their diligence as well as the support of their coaches and professors.”

Academic success rate is the percentage of student athletes who graduate within six years of enrolling or depart the athletic program in good academic standing before graduation. The Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence is given to Division II institutions with an academic success rate of 90% or higher.

Hillsdale College is one of seven Division II schools to receive the award all 14 years it has been given. This year Hillsdale achieved an academic success rate of 99%, topping the list among Division II schools for the first time.
